Bill Roache, who plays Ken Barlow in ITV soap Coronation Street, took to the skies above Cumbria to celebrate his 91st birthday.
He decided the best way to mark the milestone was by taking part in his first ever skydive and he was raising cash for charity Stride for Truth.
Bill was strapped to an instructor at Skydive Northwest at Cark airfield, near Grange-over-Sands, and jumped from 15,000 ft, reaching a speed of about 120mph. Also taking part in the skydive was 83-year-old Ann Rogers.
Prior to the jump, Bill said his feelings were all over the place but he was mainly excited and afterwards, he said his breath was taken away.

His experience was filmed by High Peak TV and broadcast on the Lorraine show on ITV earlier this week.
