Workington Comets are at full strength with the return of Elliot Kelly for this afternoon’s home clash with Oxford Chargers.

But what would have been an interesting clash between the league’s top two riders (Jordan Jenkins and Connor Bailey) won’t now be happening with Oxford’s Jenkins still out injured.

Bailey, meanwhile, showed he is in red hot form by scoring nine and two bonus points in Redcar Bears’ 48-41 win over Plymouth Gladiators last night, after winning his first two racesv at reserve.

Ex-Comet Charles Wright top-scored with 13.

Alfie Bowtell

Mildenhall’s Alfie Bowtell – who scored 13 points for the Fen Tigers at Northside earlier this month – will guest this afternoon in place of Jenkins.

Also missing for the Chargers is Kelsey Dugard who would have been a popular returnee to the Northside track after being brought in at the start of the season by the Comets to fill-in for the injured Luke Harrison. The Chargers will operate rider replacement in his place.

Sam Woods

Luke Killeen also misses out with a wrist injury for the Chargers and Sam Woods an unattached three point rider guests in his place.

Comets: Connor Bailey, Elliot Kelly, Sam McGurk, Luke Crang, Ace Pijper, Luke Harrison, Harry McGurk.

Chargers: Alfie Bowtell (guest), Kelsey Dugard (R/R), Ryan Kinsley, Jody Scott, Henry Atkins, Sam Woods (guest), Jacob Clouting.

The National Development League match will be followed by the Meteors in a Junior League meeting against Redcar Bear Cubs.
