People are reminded to be careful with tumble dryers after fire crews were called to a kitchen fire in West Cumbria.
Crews from Workington and Maryport responded to the call out to Seaton yesterday. When they arrived, they found a tumble dryer had been on fire and put out by the owners.
The house was smoke logged but luckily the smoke alarms worked to alert them.
The crews removed the tumble dryer and washing machine and used a thermal image camera to check for any fire spread.
Workington Fire Station said: “Please make sure your lint trays are emptied regularly and don’t leave your appliances unattended or on through the night.”
