Kendal Town continued their fine start to the pre-season with another victory – this time a 3-0 home success against Oldham Athletic Under-23s.
Although they had dominated throughout the first-half they turned round still all square with the Oldham keeper looking particularly sharp.
He made three outstanding stops, while the trialist in goal for Kendal did have to make a couple of important saves. Kendal also struck the woodwork twice through Matt Flynn and Shaun Sailor.
Ten minutes into the second-half and Kendal had broken the deadlock when Ryan Winder lifted a cross into the area for Flynn to head home.
Four minutes later it was Jordan Monthe who was there to head in, after Rob Wilson supplied the cross on this occasion.
The third and final goal came on 71 minutes when Brandon Roskell-Robinson had a simple tap-in when a ball flew low into the box.
Afterwards manager Jimmy Marshall announced he had made another signing, adding Josh Winder to the squad after he had impressed as a trialist in earlier games.
