Penrith were beaten 4-0 at Newcastle Benfield after taking a depleted squad for the Northern League Division One clash.
The Bonny Blues had seven players missing for various reasons and after battling well enough in the first half, collapsed to concede four goals after the break.
The hosts won with goals from Bruno Mendes-Correia (53) Dennis Knight (72, 83 pen) and Callum Guy (94).
Manager Darren Edmondson said: “I’m not going to dwell on this one. Some of the lads who came in had not played many minutes so I think they tired in the second-half.
“The mood was a bit flat, which is unlike the group we have this season, and it’s a result that sometimes happens at this level. There have been a few high scores already.
“We will move on, hope to get some bodies back for Tuesday at Seaham and then look forward to an FA Cup-tie with Consett.”
