Megacon 2023

Megacon’s Carlisle comeback was a triumphant return post-coronavirus, said its organisers.

The event, held on Saturday at the Richard Rose Academy, sold out, with hundreds of people attending.

With fan-favourite elements, including comics, movies, television shows, gaming, and more, MegaCon 2023 captured the essence of pop culture enthusiasm that has been yearned for over the past years.

Organises said it created an immersive and thrilling experience for attendees, offering a treasure trove of attractions that catered to a diverse range of interests.

Ali Metcalf, host of Megacon 2023, said:  “We are absolutely thrilled by the extraordinary success of Megacon 2023. The event’s sell-out status and the overwhelming support we received from fans, vendors, and partners underscore the significance of this gathering.

“This triumphant return signifies not just a convention, but a testament to the local connection that unites us through our shared love for all things geek.

Megacon 2023 featured a line-up of Target Wrestling, live shows from Space Radio, artist exhibitions, cosplay showcases, interactive gaming zones, and a bustling exhibition floor.

It was organised by Carlisle Gamers, a non-profit initiative that is the largest permanent gaming club in Cumbria.
