A Lake District route has now fully reopened after it was repaired thanks to a £324,000 grant.
Members of the Lakes District National Park (LDNP) Authority were presented with the chief executive’s update at a meeting in Kendal on Wednesday.
Chief executive Richard Leafe told members that they should take his report as read.
According to his report work on the restoration of the route, which is known as Breast High Road, began in May 2022.
The 3km byway near Tebay connects Bretherdale and Borrowdale and the work aimed to make it more accessible.
In his report Mr Leafe said: “A grant of £324,000 from the National Grid’s Landscape Enhancement Initiative enabled Lake District National Park rangers, working with a local contractor, to successfully carry out repairs to the track, replacing culverts, reinstating drainage, surfacing and reprofiling of erosions scars, as well as installing two new bridges.
“The work, including some additional tree planting on the flanks of Borrowdale Fell, were completed and the route reopened in May.”
