Tuesday saw the last of the three HTA trails to be held at Seaton were staged.

There was a smaller than usual crowd and smaller fields but the races were no less exciting with good on field humour.

There were seven seniors for the opener with Silver Streak the favourite as the big two Lady Million and Foxparke Beeb Beep were absentees.

Silver Streak had already claimed two third places previously so was looking to step to the winner’s enclosure.

As they came back onto the finish it was a good race between the three leading dogs as they crossed the last road, and they had a bit of an advantage from the rest of the field.

Once into the penultimate field Silver Streak just got a few yards on Strawberry Mick and crossed the line in first place from Graham Reid’s charge.

Barncroft Express had ran another good race to finish in third place for Alan O’Fee.

Bill Mellon and co’s Cracking Last One Two finished in fourth place with Lisa and Hollie Whitfield’s Black Edition also having ran a great race to finish in fifth place. Gary Woodend’s Twilight Mist finished in sixth.

Next to run were the open pups and it was the battle of the top two litters with only six runners three from the Silver Dusk/Miterdale Copper litter and three from the Jenny’s Aura/Foxparke Billy Elliot litter.

As they crossed the last road it was the Silver Dusk and Miterdale Copper prodigy that were heading up the race with Silver Dream and Hey Mac having a cracking race with Artist up there as well.

As they came through the last gate onto the finish it was between Silver Dream and Hey Mac. But as she has done so many times this year Silver Dream just found that extra stride to take her to the line first, but there was only a neck between the two hounds.

Artist had ran on well and was close behind the first two by just a length. Not far behind the first three hounds were the two Foxparke’s Fair Lady and Side Kick who finished fourth and fifth with Money Talks taking sixth.

So it was the Silver Dusk and Miterdale Copper litter that came through again. It has really been an outstanding litter but on the night all six hounds ran a cracking race and credit also needs to go to Jenny’s Aura and Foxparke Billy Elliot’s litter as well.

The last race of the night was the Open Non-winners and the outcome of the race would determine the points competition winner.

There were only four runners with Foxparke Dealer looking to claim the title, but she really only needed to finish the race and get some points.

As they crossed the last road it was the two Foxparke hounds that were running well together.

Then as they came through the last gate Foxparke Dealer looked as though she was going to come on and win the race but hit a really muddy patch and did a serious nose dive into the mud letting her kennel mate Foxparke Danny Elliot come through to take the win.

Foxparke Dealer did take second place with a very muddy face but by doing so also claimed the Open Non-winners points competition, so the Foxparke team were well chuffed.

Foxparke Dealer managed to get cleaned up before she had her photo taken. Vinny Moon finished well in third place for Tracey Hill and Black Eyed Mist finished in fourth place for John and Nicola Lyon’s.

Action moves back to Middle Moss on Thursday and then there is a busy weekend with two fixtures, one at Steel Rigg on Saturday followed by Buttermere Show on the Sunday with the final race of the season taking place on Tuesday at the traditional Millstone Moore fixture.

The Championship titles have now been won and the majority of the points competitions have been sorted with just the senior maiden and the puppy maidens to be decided.
