Workington Town have added another new recruit to their squad for 2024.
Jonny Hutton is a Scottish student international who has represented Cumbria at Under-19s level.
A utility back with the south Cumbrian amateur club Ulverston, Hutton has agreed a two-year deal at the Fibrus Community Stadium.
Town have very high hopes for him and are looking forward to seeing him reach his full potential.
Director of rugby Gary Murdock said: “Jonny is someone we have had on our radar for some time. Our scouting network identified him as a player with huge potential and after watching him in person on a number of occasions and speaking to trusted judges we are delighted to have him on board.
“He stands over 6ft, is quick and has the raw elements to excel in the pro game. We are delighted to once again offer an opportunity to a fantastic local talent.”
Head coach Anthony Murray is equally enthused by the signing, adding: “I’m delighted to give another young Cumbrian community player an opportunity at Workington Town.
“Jonny can play various positions in the outside backs and is big, fast and powerful. I’m very excited to see him develop at Town and I know we can help him reach his full potential.’
