Carlisle’s Christmas market will be a magical destination for visitors from far and wide.

The much-anticipated Christmas Market is returning to Carlisle city centre this December.

With more than 40 Alpine-style chalets, run by local and visiting traders, it will be the largest market of its type in Cumbria.

When does Carlisle Christmas market take place?

The market runs from Friday, December 1 to Sunday December 17.

Stalls will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm; Thursdays from 10am to 8pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.

Where does Carlisle Christmas market take place?

The market takes place in the pedestrian-friendly city centre, where decorated chalets will be arranged against the backdrop of the historic 17th-century Old Town Hall.

Shoppers on the hunt for the perfect present will be able to choose from artisan and beautifully presented crafts, unique gifts, stocking fillers and decorations.

Weary shoppers will welcome an opportunity to warm up with mulled wine and refuel with speciality street food, from the wide selection of hot and fresh food on offer.

The stunning Carlisle Cathedral, found in the city’s historic quarter, is another must-see with magnificent stained glass and its famous starlight ceiling.

There is also a fantastic selection of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs for shoppers to enjoy in the easy-to-access city centre.
