A Lake District museum is the backdrop for a new Adidas campaign featuring ex-footballer Roy Keane.
The former Manchester United captain fronts the launch of Adidas’ new Spezial range and the photoshoot took place at the Windermere Jetty Museum.
The film follows Keane and his dog Jet around the museum and its grounds, including the boathouse and lakeside meadow. Keane is also filmed in a boat from the museum’s prestigious collection.
Alongside the film is a set of still images, shot by longtime adidas Spezial collaborator Kevin Cummins, that place the range against the modernist architecture of Windermere Jetty Museum with the awe-inspiring natural landscape of the Lake District.
Rhian Harris, chief executive of Lakeland Arts, the registered arts and heritage charity that runs Windermere Jetty Museum, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Adidas team and Roy Keane to Windermere Jetty Museum for the Spezial campaign.
“The museum provides a perfect location for stunning lakeside and mountain backdrops. The Adidas film also features Jane, a stylish red motorboat from the 1930s.
“Commercial photoshoots and boat hire provide much needed income for Lakeland Arts and Windermere Jetty Museum, allowing us to look after our collections and provide exhibitions and engaging programmes for the local community.”
