
Barrow Raiders have given their fans an update on the club’s 2024 squad and who has committed long term.
They have also listed all the players that have left the club since the end of last season.
There are currently 18 players in the Raiders first team ahead of the new season, with paperwork completed for a further signing, and terms agreed with another.
The announcement of these signings will be delayed due to a couple of independent reasons.
Below is a breakdown of the situation of each member of the club’s 2023 squad going into the new campaign.
UNDER CONTRACT
- Luke Cresswell: Will start year 3 of his 3-year contract
- Shane Toal: Will start year 3 of his 3-year contract
- Greg Burke: Will start year 2 of his 2-year contract

The club added: “Our first team squad recruitment has been given a massive boost with some of our leading sponsors forming an independent group aimed at providing additional funds for the playing budget through direct investment and support of large events.
“This should allow us to slightly increase the size of our proposed squad, but we will also be backed up by up-and-coming talent from our Furness Raiders development side and there is still a possibility of a link-up with a Super League side.
“We think it is important that the pathway from the Furness Raiders continues to provide talent to the first team, and we have been rewarded in the recent past with the emergence of the likes of Ryan Johnston and Charlie Emslie, who are now established first team stars – the former even captaining the Raiders on occasion last season.
