The revived West Cumbria Cricket League is looking to build on the success of the first season.
The league had been defunct for a few years before being brought back to life for the 2023 season.
Nathan Canfield was a leading light behind the league being revived and he said: “We had a five team league and in the end the championship was a tie between Workington TLM and Cockermouth CC.
“There will be a play-off to launch the new season to decide the champions.
“It was great to to see so many people involved in cricket and having fun whilst doing so. We’d love to get even more involved – mainly for enjoyment with a little bit of competitiveness!
“So as we plan for 2024 we are looking to attract more teams from West Cumbria. We currently have five – Workington CC, Workington TLM, Cockermouth CC, Cockermouth Accies and Broughton.
“New teams can be from established clubs or just a group of mates, or other sports (football, rugby etc) or works team.”
