Both of tonight’s games in the Northern League involving Cumbrian clubs have been postponed.
The weather, and increasing problems in both travelling and playing the game, have led to Carlisle City and Penrith losing their fixtures.
City, targeting a top five place, were due to host North Shields at Gillford Park with the visitors up and running again with a new manager and team after doubts were expressed over their future at the end of last year.
Penrith should have entertained Whickham, who are enjoying a good run in the FA Vase and are due to travel to Emley on Saturday in the fifth round.
Darren Edmondson’s men have won their last seven home games and will be hoping to get back into action on Saturday at Frenchfield when they are due to host Crook Town.
On Saturday Carlisle City are due to travel to Seaham Red Star.
