Workington Comets are still waiting to complete the signing of their final rider for the 2024 season.

But the Comets, preparing to return to Championship speedway, have started a sponsorship initiative for their fans.

They are offering supporters and businesses the opportunity to sponsor a rider for the coming season.

At a cost of £840 the sponsors’ name and/or logo will be printed in a prominent position on the riders race suit, which will then become the sponsors property at the end of the season.

Many other additional benefits are included in the offer which can be viewed in full on the Comets website and include recognition in the match day programme and on the website.

Obviously with only seven riders in the team opportunities to get involved are limited and in order to take advantage of this offer details need, to be submitted by this Friday February 9.

Anyone interested in getting involved are asked to contact the club before then.

In the event of any suits not being sold by the due date they would still be available but because of manufacturing deadlines would not carry the name or logo of the sponsor.

The Comets management are looking at other initiatives at the Northside track as they make the step-up from the National Development League.

The season launches with the Ben Fund Bonanza meeting on March 16 and then the following Saturday will be the team’s press and practice session.
