A 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon saw Barrow slip out of the automatic promotion places in League Two.
It moved their conquerors onto the fringes of the play-off places and overall they were deserving winners.
They scored both goals in the first-half and although Barrow were close to pulling one back soon after half-time the hosts won well.
Barrow’s misery was compounded for a red card shown to Jamie Proctor three minutes from the end of normal time.
The opening goal came after 16 minutes when keeper Paul Farman came out quickly to head clear. The ball fell to Ronan Curtis who proceeded to blast the ball past the stranded custodian from 25 yards.
Ten minutes later the Dons were able to double their lead when a terrific cross from Armani Little saw Omar Bugiel arrive at the back post to head home.
Barrow’s best effort came from David Worrall after 52 minutes when his header from Elliot Newby’s cross was well saved by Alex Bass.
It took an even better save by Farman to deny Josh Kelly after he had been put clean through.
Proctor’s dismissal didn’t help and Wimbledon saw it through to an important victory.
