A road in Frizington will be closed overnight as contractors continue to carry out improvement work.
From Monday, the top layer of the road surface of the A5086 will be removed from the garage to just before Yeathouse Road and road and pavement improvements will continue.
On Thursday and Friday, the surface will be laid from the beginning of Frizington to just before Yeathouse Road. Vehicle access will be restricted due to the limited space.
Phase two will then extend from Yeathouse Road beyond the mini roundabout.
From 7am to 7pm, the road will be closed to vehicles, but pedestrians will have access.
Anyone who needs access to their property or business is asked to talk to staff on site.
Cumberland Council, which is co-ordinating the plans, said the work was weather-dependent.
