Barrow landed another home draw in the second round of the Carabao Cup with a visit from Derby County scheduled for August 27.

The south Cumbrians got through on Tuesday with a 3-2 home win against Port Vale, after going 2-1 behind midway through the second-half.

Stoke City, who won at Carlisle, must travel again to Middlesbrough, impressive winners at Leeds United.

Derby got through on Tuesday night when they beat last season’s National League champions Chesterfield 2-1 at Pride Park.

Championship side Derby started life in the second tier with a 4-2 defeat at Blackburn Rovers last Friday and follow up at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

For new Barrow boss Stephen Clemence there’s no thought of Derby yet because next on the agenda is the important Cumbrian derby at Carlisle’s Brunton Park on Saturday with a 12.30pm start.

The Northern section draw is:

  • Grimsby v Sheffield Wednesday
  • Everton v Doncaster
  • Blackburn v Blackpool
  • Fleetwood v Rotherham
  • Shrewsbury v Bolton
  • Nottingham Forest v Newcastle
  • Barrow v Derby
  • Leicester v Tranmere
  • Middlesbrough v Stoke
  • Barnsley v Sheffield United
  • Harrogate v Preston
  • Walsall v Huddersfield
  • Wolves v Burnley
