Barrow are up to fourth in League Two after they registered a 4-0 home win over Port Vale.
It hadn’t been that comfortable in the Carabao Cup win 10 days earlier but this was emphatic.
There hadn’t been much in it over the first-half and they went into the break at 0-0.
But once Ged Garner had fired the Bluebirds ahead after 54 minutes there wasn’t much doubt as to who was going to emerge on top.
The four second-half goals were the highlights in an impressive display which allowed them to bounce back after last week’s 1-0 defeat at Carlisle.
Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman had to make the only real save in the first half and it was an important one in the 21st minute.
Vale captain Ben Garrity’s header from Ronan Curtis’ corner was net=bound until Farman produced a superb tip-over.
It was virtually from their first serious threat on 54 minutes when Garner turned inside the area and then stroked a fine finish beyond Vale keeper Connor Ripley into the far corner.
The second came in the 77th minute when Elliot Newby set-up fellow substitute Emile Acquah, who finished powerfully into the top corner.
Four minutes later Kian Spence scored from Neo Eccleston’s cross and in stoppage time Newby’s pinpoint cut-back was fired home by Dom Telford.
Stephen Clemence will take his side to Harrogate Town next Saturday looking to build on a solid start to the campaign.
