Club captain Michael Slack returns to the Cumbria side for the season’s T20 finale on Sunday.
A knee injury, and subsequent surgery, wrecked his season but he was back for Carlisle on Saturday, bowling seven overs for 14 runs.
After rain ruined the Finals Day scheduled earlier in the season for May 26/27, this will be the second attempt to play out the conclusion of this season’s NCCA T20 competition.
The rearranged T20 Finals Day is being staged at Chester Broughton Hall this Sunday.
Format for the day follows that of the Vitality T20 Blast in that four teams face each other in semi finals. Then the winners play each other later in the day in the final (scheduled to start at 4.30pm).
It’s now been confirmed that timings this Sunday will follow the same (expected) timings from last May in that at 10am Cumbria face Oxfordshire in the first semi-final.
The second semi-final (scheduled for 1.15pm) will be between Berkshire and Staffordshire; the two counties who faced facing each other in the Championship Final at West Bromwich Dartmouth CC early this week when the game ended with the weather intervening and the Trophy was shared.
Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Staffordshire are all previous winners of the T20 Cup, Berkshire won in 2018, Oxfordshire in 2022 and Staffordshire are the reigning champions.
Tickets are available in advance online at eventbrite for a limited period and on the gate for £12.50 on the day. Children free.
Live streaming on the NCCA Youtube channel for each match.
