Join Art Gene for its annual family-friendly outdoor exhibition That Wet Stuff (and other things) later this month.

The free exhibition, on Saturday September 21, from 1pm to 8.30pm, is a celebration of water and all its possibilities.

The exhibition, at the Isle of Walney Community Growing Space, Mill Lane, Walney Island, features final art works by Art Gene’s 2024 artists in residence, Anna Clough and Jenny Steele, alongside a day-long programme of water-focused activities.

There will be talks on water ecologies, seagrass restoration and earth construction, featuring Art Gene’s Creative Gardener, Bethan Pettitt; Cumbria Wildlife Trust; Cella Collective and ecologist Jenny Holden.

There will also be film screenings, campfire poetry and art works by Art Gene’s artists.

Free, plant-based Allotment Soup-grown lunch and supper will be provided, prepared by local cook Russ Dean.

Call 01229 825085 to confirm your place. All welcome.
