Whitehaven have announced the signing of a second forward from Kells in Karl Garner.
Like yesterday’s announcement, revealing the signing of Kells teammate Clarke Chambers, Garner, 23, is another player considered ready to make the step up from the National Conference League.
Last season in the NCL Premier Division he made 21 league appearances, scoring two tries.
Speaking about the second signing from Kells in as many days, new Whitehaven Rugby League head coach Anthony Murray said: “I’m delighted to give another young local player his opportunity to play for his home-town and take the step up to the professional game.
“I’m sure Karl will come with bags of enthusiasm and will want to make his mark in the pro game.”
Once again the club has put on record its thanks to Kells for their support given to Karl in his step up to the professional game as he becomes another member of the community club to sign for Haven.
