Tuesday afternoon saw the penultimate trails of the season at Seaton but with many dogs having been laid off for the year the die-hards were left to run.
With the major competitions now been finalised and many of the points competitions also been won runners were few and far between.
The seniors had a slip of five hounds and although few in number it still proved to be an exciting race.
Local hounds Silver Dream, the 2024 Senior Championship winner was still competing and running alongside her were siblings Embrace and Hey Mac.
Also competing were Busy Again and Mel but as the hounds headed down to Camerton and crossed the road in the bottom, it was Hey Mac and Embrace who were leading. In pursuit were Busy Again, Silver Dream and Mel.
When they crossed the next road at Seaton it was Mel who had made ground up and crossed in first place followed by Embrace, then Busy Again, Hey Mac and Silver Dream.
However, once back on the finish it was Embrace for Laura Steele, Andrew and Joel Bulman and Ian Rumney who showed in front and who maintained his lead and crossed the line in first place.

Silver Dream, for Darren and Julie McMaster, was in second place with Busy Again finishing well to claim third place for Alan Blacklock.
Hey Mac was fourth for Neil and Gillian Brown and Derick Bulman. Mel finished in fifth place.
They may have been few in number but with all five hounds on the finish at the same time it made an exciting climax to the race.
The pups were next with a slip of just two as arch rivals Thornton and Minnie Million had the race to themselves.
So far Thornton has just managed to get the upper hand on Minnie Million over the last few weeks.
As the two hounds completed the course it was nip and tuck all the way round with them taking turns heading up the race.
However once through the last gate on the finish Thornton just eased away and crossed the line with a yard or so to spare.

Again it was a great race to watch and the win takes Thornton to a total of 20 wins over the season which isn’t bad going.
The Open Non-winners were next and again just two competing – Discover for the Lindsay sisters and Good Enough for Graham Reid.
After running side by side for a good proportion of the trail Discover pulled away on the second half and showed on the finish well clear of Good Enough.
Good Enough was five or 10 minutes behind but completed the trail to claim second place.
The traditional final trails of the season are at Millstone Moor today with the veterans points competition still to be decided and also a couple of runner-up positions, there may be a few more dogs running.
The first race starts at 12.30pm and is one of five over the afternoon.
