Tom Farren

There’s no let up in the recruitment programme by Whitehaven as they restock the squad ahead of a return to League One.

The latest recruit is young forward Tom Farren from North West Men’s League side Roose Pioneers of Barrow.

Farren was part of the England Community Lions Under-19s side that travelled to Serbia earlier this year and were victorious by defeating Ukraine in the semi-finals and France in the final.

Tom was selected as man of the match in the Lions victory in the semi-final after crossing for a first half try.

Farren has also had a spell in the Furness Raiders academy but will now make the step up to professional level,

Haven head coach Anthony Murray said: “I am very excited about Tom joining us. He is another young Cumbrian whose talent was identified having been involved in the Jets programme at Barrow and also through representing England Community Lions at under-19s.

“Tom is a young forward who will bring energy and enthusiasm to the group and I’m hoping he is another young player wanting to develop in the professional game at Whitehaven.”
