Workington Comets have signed an exciting, all-action British youngster Vinnie Foord for the 2025 season.
The 18-year-old from Hailsham, East Sussex joins the GT Tyres Comets after spending last season with the Poole Pirates.
His time with the Pirates, after he joined mid-2024 as a replacement for Max Perry, saw him take the opportunity with both hands, doubling his 2.00 starting average at reserve.
Foord, who grabbed the headlines in the latter stages of last season for his never give up attitude, joins Tate Zischke as the second signing for 2025. The promotion feel this is one signing that many other clubs will envy.
Many fans will remember his heat eight win against the Comets at the Northside GT Tyres Arena last season, where he spectacularly rounded-up Comets guest Jason Edwards for an eye catching win.
It certainly caught the eye of the Workington promotion with promoter Andrew Bain eager to snap the young Brit up for 2025.
He said: “Vinnie’s race against us last season in the play-off semi-final really caught our eye. He embodies what we’re trying to achieve at our club and is a rider who will never give up.

“I’m sure with the personality and racer’s mentality he has, he will become a fans favourite with the Comets very quickly.”
““As soon as we found out Vinnie was available next year, we had to get him on board. I felt it was an easy decision for him as well, he really likes Northside and every time he has been here showed great potential.”
“Vinnie is the second part of what we think is going to be another impressive and exciting team for 2025. We will have more news coming very soon for our fans.”
Foord joins the GT Tyres Comets for 2025 on a starting average of 3.90 (with deduction) and will nicely slot into one of the reserve berths.
