200 new jobs will be created as a care firm expands into Cumbria.

Alcedo Care Group has opened new branches in Workington and Carlisle and said the £450,000 investment would create local jobs.

The firm offers daily social care, respite visits, round-the-clock live-in care and 24/7 supervision. It said its team of nurses and carers will deliver up to 4,000 hours of care per week to residents across the region.

It has opened a branch on Workington’s Gray Street and Carlisle’s Parkhouse Road.

Both branches open with a dedicated management team of five from which they will expand and grow taking on more care clients and nurses and carers as required.

Both Workington and Carlisle will be headed up by their own dedicated branch managers who will be supported by experienced Alcedo Care operations manager Victoria Leecy and area manager Katie McKenzie.

Managing director of Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, said: “We are looking forward to further building the client base and becoming a key part of more communities across Cumbria.”
