
Workington Town’s Mal Steele has announced he is stepping away from Rugby League.
In a statement, Workington Town said Steele had requested to be released from the second year of his contract.
The club said: “Mal joined Town for the 2022 season and was a regular in Town’s championship season. In 2023 he signed a new two-year contract.
“Mal has been a model professional and is extremely well respected by all of us at the club.
“We understand and support his decision and have agreed to his release.
“We wish Mal all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution to Workington Town”
