Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team volunteers were called out on Boxing Day to help a walker at Buttermere.
The team was called by the North West Ambulance Service to help with a person who had damaged their ankle on the lakeshore.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue responded directly accessing the lake via Sykes Farm.
The casualty was splinted and warmed up before being transported to Buttermere village before transfer to hospital in an ambulance.
The team said they wished the casualty a speedy recovery.
