A road had to be closed after a water main burst a Lake District town.
The A5074 Lake Road to Bowness was closed to vehicles and pedestrians due to the incident yesterday and was is still closed today, Sunday January 26.
As a result, people in the LA23 postcode area of Windermere were experiencing low water pressure or no water.
United Utilities sent engineers to fix the issue yesterday afternoon.
The road closure forced Stagecoach to divert its bus services and was unable to serve any stops between Windermere Station and St Martin’s Church.
The road reopened with temporary traffic lights at around 1.20pm and Stagecoach’s services are now back to normal.
Earlier yesterday, Saturday January 25, an issue with water was reported in the Ulverston area, with people experiencing low water pressure or no water.
Yesterday afternoon, tankers were in the area pumping water into the pipework while United Utilities completed repairs. It said: “Most customers should have supply however may notice some fluctuation in pressure, especially during peak times of the day.”
At 8.40pm, United Utilities said it was still working on the fault and would work overnight.
