Bus times are set to change in West Cumbria at the end of the month.
The travel firm said the changes were designed to improve punctuality as well as improving access to the Lake District and will come into effect from Monday March 31.
It added that minor changes will be made to local service running times as well as an increase in the number of buses running as part of the Lake District summer timetable.
Tom Waterhouse, managing director of Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, said: “We are always looking to improve our services and the adjustments we are making to times in Whitehaven and Workington are designed to achieve better punctuality and reliability.
“The summer timetables on our Lakes services make it easier than ever to explore this most beautiful corner of England and, with fares capped at £3 no matter how far the journey, travelling by bus is a no-brainer.”
Changes to services
29/29A (Workington – Whitehaven), 50/51 (Moorclose Circular) and 2/3/3A (Whitehaven Town)
Minor changes will be made to bus times throughout the day on the 29/29A between Whitehaven and Workington, the 50/51 Workington-Moorclose town service and the 2/3/3A Whitehaven town services.
Stagecoach said these changes have been made for operational reasons to increase punctuality.
30/300 (Egremont/Frizington – Whitehaven – Workington – Carlisle)
A small number of journeys also have revised times on the 30/300 between Thornhill/Frizington, Whitehaven, Workington and Carlisle.
Evening departures from Carlisle after 7pm will also divert to serve Thursby, to provide a later service to the village.
Some buses may set off earlier and arrive earlier.
Stagecoach said the changes to timings are minor and aim to improve punctuality.
X4/X5 (Penrith-Keswick-Cockermouth-Workington)
Sunday service on the X5 from Workington to Keswick and Penrith will double to run hourly.
The summer timetable in the Lakes will see bigger changes than in West Cumbria, with an increased frequency of buses running and the return of seasonal routes.
The open-top Borrowdale bus from Keswick to Seatoller operates every half hour daily while the popular Honister Rambler circular between Keswick and Buttermere has hourly departures every day.
Buses from Cockermouth to Buttermere also return this summer on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from the start of May to the end of August, thanks to support from the Strategic Visitor Management Group.
