Touchdown Beats kicked off at Cockermouth RUFC on a sunny Friday evening, writes Vince Brand.
It was organised by Chris Wright of Chance Camp, and Matt Woodcock.
The main attraction was a women’s/girls’ touch rugby festival featuring four dynamic teams – Cockermouth RUFC, Red Rose Women, Lake District Barbells, and Keswick Falcon Social Club.
The event had food from vendors like Dirty Dogs, Micky Pizza, and Luchini’s Ice Cream. Cockermouth Wellbeing was there to offer soothing massages for any bumps and bruises, and Oh Sister,, showcased their handmade and budget-friendly sterling silver jewellery.

Music and laughter filled the air thanks to the resident DJ and master of ceremonies.

Fun events like the Ice Bath Challenge, the longest Dunk, and the Echo Bike Challenge hosted by Lake District Barbells, kept everyone buzzing.

In the rugby matches, the competitive spirit was high with Cockermouth ladies taking home the top prize.

Keswick Falcons Social Club dazzled everyone with their fancy costumes, winning the Fancy Dress award.

The next event takes place on Friday, June 20, and it’s going to be even bigger with eight teams already signed up.
