A number of roads will be closed in Whitehaven for an Orange Parade.
The parade will set off from Whitehaven Civic Hall at 12.30pm today, Saturday May 24, to march around town, which is estimated will take around an hour.
Event marshals will close the road and Copeland police said officers will also be in attendance.
Copeland Police added: “We ask for people to be patient with the road closures and find alternative routes.”

The Orange Order is a Protestant fraternity, loyal to the crown. It was founded in 1795 and its name comes from King William lll, Prince of Orange who’s victory over James II at the battle of the Boyne in July 1690 resulted in the Parliamentary democracy in the British Isles.
Lodges of the Orange Order have existed in several towns across Cumbria and parades were held annually.
They began to be re-established in 2013 and in January 2020, the Whitehaven Loyal Sons Of Ulster LOL171 was formed.
This year’s parade, Whitehaven’s fifth, is to commemorate the Dunkirk evacuation, the William Pit disaster and is also in memory of Allan Bow.
