A 30-year-old man has been banned from supermarkets and city stores for two years.
Cumbria Constabulary’s Carlisle Neighbourhood Policing team secured a criminal behaviour order for Alfonso Bitton, after he admitted three counts of shoplifting.
He was also given a six-week electronic curfew.
The two-year order means Bitton cannot:
- Enter any premises part of the Carlisle Shopwatch/Cumbria Safer Business Partnership (Carlisle) – except McDonald’s and Carlisle Library
- Enter any Aldi supermarket
- Enter any Morrisons supermarket
- Enter any Heron Foods store
Community Beat Officer PC Andrew Beal said: “This order will prevent Bitton from further criminality and help protect business owners and local residents in Carlisle.
“I would encourage anyone who witnesses the terms of such a court order being broken to contact the police immediately.
“The punishment for breaking the terms of an order can be up to five years in prison.”
Anyone who witnesses Bitton breaching the terms of his order should contact the police.
