
A man has died following a fall from the Lake District’s Sharp Edge.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Penrith Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguard helicopter were called at around 1.40pm on Saturday, July 5, to the incident on Blencathra.
A group of four people were on Sharp Edge when one of them fell to the north side of the ridge, out of sight.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “The team mobilised with assistance from the Penrith team.
“Split into two groups, one team made their way to the casualty while the other went to assist the rest of the group off the ridge.
“Sadly, the man did not survive the fall.
“Our thoughts and condolences go to the man’s friends and family.”
