Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out on Monday, July 8, to Warnscale at around 6.30pm.
The walker had fallen and heard a snap in their lower leg.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team said: “The team made its way down the Buttermere Valley and drove up to Dubs Hut above Honister, then located the casualty near Warnscale Bothy on foot.
“It was clear that the lower leg was broken, analgesia was administered, the limb was splinted and the casualty was packaged on a stretcher.
“We evacuated the casualty to the Honister Mine car park where there was an ambulance waiting to provide transport and further treatment.
