Another Place, The Lake should be top of your list this summer if you’re looking for your next great dining experience.

The relaxed and contemporary hotel, on the shores of Ullswater, is for taking it easy with your favourite people.

You don’t need to stay to experience Another Place, The Lake.

Its three restaurants offer seasonal and local menus.

Choose from three different menus and settings. Explore gardens, meadows, and shoreline.

Tie in with a lake swim, paddle or sauna. Gather friends or family for lunch, dinner or drinks overlooking the lake and fells.

Open every day. And everyone’s welcome – no need to stay!

The Glasshouse

Set in an airy Victorian-style glasshouse and closest to the lakeshore, The Glasshouse serves authentic woodfired pizzas, wines, cocktails and beer on tap.

From classics like Margherita and Napoli to our takes on Capricciosa (with Cumbrian ham and chestnut mushroom) and Ortolana (butternut squash, chestnut mushroom, chestnuts, Old Winchester cheese, bechamel sauce and crispy kale) – slice, share and soak up the scenery inside or out on the terrace. From £13.

The Glasshouse is dog-friendly and a terrace outside under the shade of the oak tree makes the most of the lake and fell views in warm weather, and there’s plenty of seating inside for cooler days.

The Living Space

With its large outdoor terrace, deep sofas and floor-to-ceiling windows, The Living Space is a relaxed spot for lunch.

Choose from sharing boards, ciabattas, wraps, toasties or garden patch soup, made from vegetables and herbs grown on site.

Fillings include crispy shredded duck, pulled jerk chicken and warm Moroccan-vegetable tagine ciabatta. From £8.

The bright, comfortable space has doors onto the terrace and is dog friendly.

Walk-in for lunch, book online for an evening table.

Rampsbeck Restaurant

Come for golden hour cocktails on the terrace and stay for dinner in Rampsbeck Restaurant, with its new a la carte menu inspired by Cumbria’s produce.

Fresh from local farms, waters and woods – think stone bass, Lakeland lamb or Cumbrian Chateaubriand – and with imaginative vegetarian and vegan options like Barbecued spiced-hispi cabbage with Miso-glazed beetroot and fondue, or charred hen of the woods mushroom croquette, Rampsbeck’s dishes showcase heritage ingredients with contemporary flare. From £20.

A children’s menu is available.

Rampsbeck Restaurant is not dog-friendly.

Why choose Another Place, the Lake?

Whether stopping by for lunch or dinner, make a memorable day of it by tying it in with lake watersports from our private jetty.

Have a swim in the lake, hire a paddleboard or kayak for a couple of hours, or try the latest option – wing foiling, new for summer 2025 (with beginner lessons starting on a stand-up paddleboard).

Book your table now at another.place/the-lake
