A community meeting will be held next week so people can share their views and experiences of maternity and neo-natal services in north Cumbria.
The meeting, on Tuesday August 5 at 6pm,has been organised by Carlisle MP Julie Minns and will feed into the Government’s national investigation into NHS maternity and neonatal services.
The investigation, announced by Health Secretary Wes Streeting last month, is undertaking a system-wide look at maternity and neonatal care to create a clear, national set of actions to improve care across every NHS maternity service.
Ms Minns MP said “Every woman, baby and family has the right to expect safe and effective maternity care, wherever they are.
“This meeting gives local people the opportunity to share their experiences and help me build a picture of how effective and safe maternity care in our area is, that I can then feed into the national review of maternity services.”
People who would like to attend to share their views and experiences of maternity services and neo-natal care are invited to register online at: https://forms.gle/4g9EVY1jFqE9VwHc8 or by email to [email protected] or by calling 01228 479 441, and include their name, address and contact details.
Further details will be confirmed to attendees ahead of the meeting.
