Plans have been lodged with Westmorland and Furness Council to replace the windows a Cumbrian railway station.
Network Rail said Grange-over-Sands Railway Station’s current windows were rotten and decayed, with flaking and failed paint throughout, with damage to the timber bead.
The windows have been worn away due to the bad weather of the west coast.
Grange-over-Sands Railway Station was opened on September 1 1857 as Grange.
Designed by Edward Graham Paley, the architect of Lancaster Cathedral, it was given Grade II listed status on May 2 1975.
If the application is approved, the new windows will be made of timber, and will match the Victorian-Edwardian style of the existing ones, in a like for like replacement.
The plans aim to restore the historic fabric, with hopes that the proposed restoration will enhance the character and aesthetics of the hub and return it to its former glory.
