City are unbeaten in the Northern League First Division, but are still seeking their first win after 0-0 and 2-2 draws with Shildon and Northallerton respectively.
They resume tonight at Gillford Park against Boro Rangers who have won one and lost one so far to lead their hosts by a point in the table.
Like City, Boro Rangers were beaten in the FA Cup on Saturday when they lost 3-1 at Easington Colliery.
Penrith are exactly like Carlisle City – two draws and an FA Cup defeat so far.
They have Whitley Bay visiting Frenchfield tonight who have also drawn both Northern League games, and again like the two Cumbrian sides, lost in the FA Cup.
They went down 1-0 at home to Heaton Stannington who now operate in the NPL East Division. A healthy crowd of 786 watched that one.
Kendal Town, who got through in the FA Cup at Crook Town, have no game tonight as scheduled opponents, and early Northern League leaders Guisborough Town, have an FA Cup replay after a 2-2 home draw with Consett.
Top game in the West Lancashire League is at Cleator Moor where the Celtic entertain south Cumbrian rivals Millom.
Gareth Agnew’s side started with a good 3-2 win in Chorley on Saturday against newly promoted Astley and Buckshaw United.
Their hosts finished runners-up to Millom last season in Division One.
Millom opened their Premier Division campaign with a 2-2 home draw against Poulton, twice having to come from behind to earn the point.
Whitehaven, who lost 3-1 at Coppull on Saturday, are without a fixture tonight but the fourth Cumbrian side in the top flight, Milnthorpe Corinthians travel to Poulton.
Corinthians opened the scoring at Eagley on Saturday but finished on the wrong end of a 6-1 scoreline.
