Multiple Lake District campers have been moved on for excessive littering and mess.
Cumberland Council said its civil enforcement team engaged with groups of people camping in and around Wasdale last week.
It said while most were respectful of the area, multiple campers were moved on due to excessive littering and mess left behind, including disposable barbecues.
It aims to clamp down on reports of anti-social behaviour and give council teams and police more power to take action where necessary.
A council spokesman said: “Just a reminder breaking the rules of a Public Spaces Protection Order is against the law, so if you’re reporting something, it should involve behaviour that’s causing a problem for other people or the environment.
“Let’s all work together to keep our beautiful outdoor spaces clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.”
MP Josh MacAlister, who represents Whitehaven & Workington, added: “I know people are frustrated but action is being taken to tackle illegal fly camping. But I am exploring what more we can do as the Public Space Protection Order only gets us so far.”
While the Public Space Protection Order is in place across Cumberland – Westmorland and Furness Council have confirmed they currently have no plans yet to do the same.
More police patrols around areas known to be frequented by fly-camping and littering are also set to take place over the coming month.
Fly-camping – not to be confused with wild camping – is named so when campers do not follow the rules of wild camping and when their planned pitch is not above the highest fell wall.
