After three successive defeats without a goal scored, Barrow finally put things right.
But they needed a dramatic late goal to beat Notts County 2-1 and kickstart their League Two campaign.
Lewis Shipley’s scored late on in stoppage time after it looked as though the visitors were going to earn their second point of the season.
Matty Dennis appeared to have secured that for County when he netted in the 89th minute.
But in the seventh minute of time added on Shipley won it for the Bluebirds.
The defender Shipley popped up in the box to knock in his first goal for the club.
Tyler Walker, the ex-Nottingham Forest striker had scored Barrow’s goal in the 32nd minute. It was Barrow’s first of the season and Walker’s first in the Football League since March 2023.
County dominated possession in the second half but had to finish with ten men when substitute
Matty Platt was injured and unable to carry-on.
The visitors had used their three substitute windows and unable to bring on their final replacement.
But despite the team’s handicap former Carlisle United striker Dennis grabbed what seemed a last gasp equaliser when he headed in a cross from Nick Tsaroulla.
But Barrow battled on, throwing caution to the wind and were rewarded with Shipley steering home the winner.
