West Cumbrian pigeons face a third successive race from Appleton.
Weather forecasts and a car boot sale at a proposed liberation site have affected this weekend’s race.
First it was the weather which again dictated racing schedules for the West Cumbria Amalgamation.
The planned race from Nantwich was put back to Sunday.
Race controller Neil Buchanan said: “The forecast for Saturday has deteriorated and we have waited until the last minute to make the decision.
“The race has now been put back 24 hours to Sunday.”
The original race programme had Nantwich down as the racepoint but sizeable trees in the vicinity are not conducive to a clean liberation.
An alternative racepoint between Appleton and Cannock, ruling out Nantwich, settled on Stafford which was used for a number of years.
However that has now been discarded because the site – on open ground on the edge of town – is used for a very large car boot sale every Sunday.
It was then decided to revert back to Appleton which has staged the last two races.
The Amalgamation will then move to Stafford next Saturday and hope for no weather postponements, followed by Cannock the following week.
