Two motorcycles were involved in a collision in the same location as an unreported crash.
Eden Police said the collision happened yesterday, Monday August 25, just a day after they attended the scene of an unreported crash on Hartside Pass.
At the time, police removed a metal post that was left sticking out of a hairpin bend – in a position that officers said could have ‘impaled’ another road user.
The crash involved a white VW Gold which also destroyed a fence and allowed cows to get onto the road.
A police spokesman said: “My risk-assessed decision to move the metal pole spotted during my patrol on Sunday August 24 was correct.
“Monday did indeed see an RTC involving two motorcycles at the same hairpin. Please report hazardous damage of this kind to us so that we can help safeguard other road users.”
Anyone with any further information on the unreported crash is asked to call 101 and quote Log 77 of 19th August.
