A man has been bitten by a dog on Piel Island.
The incident happened on Saturday August 23 at around 3pm outside the Ship Inn.
A 30-year-old man was bitten on the leg, causing a puncture wound.
The dog was described as a black Labrador with a red harness.
The dog’s owner was described as a woman, with shoulder-length brown hair.
She was wearing sunglasses, black trousers and a white T-shirt with an image of the sun and waves on the front.
The owner was in the company of two other women, both believed to be in their late 40s/early 50s with shoulder-length brown hair.
One of the women was wearing a white T-shirt with the words ‘feeling fine’ in red on the front and black jeans.
The second woman was wearing a black and white striped top with a flower pattern. Both were also wearing sunglasses.
Police said it was reported that none of the women made any effort to engage with the victim and refused to provide their details.
The dog was seen to be aggressive prior to the incident and may pose a risk to other members of the public, police added.
