Windscale will enjoy some home comforts tomorrow when they continue their Wearside League programme.

The Atoms have just completed three away fixtures in a row, and won them all.

As they were proceeded by a first home win the sequence has catapulted them up the table to sixth.

They are 10 points behind the leaders with three games in hand.

Tomorrow’s opponents South Moor knocked them out of the Cup a couple of weeks ago but are below the Atoms in the table.

They are seven points behind Windscale and have played a game more.

Three of Cumbria’s four West Lancashire League sides have away games to contend with tomorrow.

Millom are best placed of the quartet in fourth and they visit Lostock St Gerard’s, highest ranked of the Cumbrian sides’ opposition in eighth.

The Preston side are four points behind Millom and have played a game more but were only narrowly defeated 1-0 at league leaders Eagley last Saturday.

Millom had the perfect response from their shock 4-1 home defeat by Hurst Green when they went to Coppull United and won 4-1.

Cleator Moor Celtic were denied a win at home by Blackpool Wren Rovers when the visitors scored in stoppage time to earn a point.

But Celtic have been showing decent form since their dismal derby shocker against Whitehaven and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run at CMB.

It will be interesting to know if Whitehaven and Celtic management teams have exchanged notes!

Whitehaven lost 2-1 at home to CMB last Saturday and this week travel to Blackpool Wren Rovers.

They have Dean Wright back assisting manager Jon Karl Benson and after a month of struggles with player availability are looking for an improvement in this important aspect.

Milnthorpe Corinthians are the only Cumbrian team at home and it’s a big one for them.

The only team in the Premier Division without a point the Corinthians entertain Coppull Utd the team immediately above them, with four points, but from a game more.

In the North West Counties League Division One North Holker Old Boys are just a point outside the play-offs in sixth.

They have an opportunity to improve on that tomorrow when they entertain Ashton Athletic who are next to bottom.
