Both squads have been announced for the Stevie Scholey Testimonial game in November.

Stevie will lead his Workington Town Select against a Community Game XIII from the Cumberland League.

There’s also a couple of old friends and team-mates in Sam Forrester and Matty Henson, along with Town’s conditioner Matthew Johnson.

Ex-Town forward Jordan Thomson, now with Whitehaven, and pals from his amateur days Daniel Rooney and Scott Akehurst are also included.

The Community squad was selected by a special panel and the chairman of the Cumberland ARL Peter Gilmour who will act as team manager.

Mark Foster (Maryport) and Gus Frazer (Seaton) will be the coaches.

It’s a nice snap shot of the league with 10 clubs represented but with a nod to Stevie’s Maryport background.

Peter Gilmour said: “To be invited to play in this game is a huge honour and recognises the hard work and talent of this group of players, all of whom have represented their clubs in the CARL with aplomb.

“We look forward to seeing the lads train together and then put up a good account of themselves on November 7.”

The Community Game squad is: Connor McCrickard (Seaton), Logan Fowler (Wath Brow), Attlee Skillen (Maryport), Lewis Mason (Seaton), Ethan Black (Distington), Xenden Callendar (Lowca), Jordan Moore (Aspatria), Emerson Allen (Lowca), Lewis Moore (Maryport), Jaiden Tallentire (Seaton), Luke Baker (Maryport), Alex Woodhall (Maryport), Lewis Brown (Seaton), Sam Blair (Seaton), Dillon Scott (Egremont), Nathan Kirkbride (Flimby), Liam Williamson (Seaton), Dylan Cromwell (Hensingham), Sean Mumberson (Maryport), Ellis Nixon (Maryport), Matthew Burns (Glasson).

Jonty Gorley and Carl Forber will be in charge of Stevie’s Town Select.

It is: Stevie Scholey, Zarrin Galea, Jonny Hutton, Dom Wear, Ross Ainley, Jack Stephenson, Jude Lupton, Cole Walker-Taylor, Guy Graham, Grant Reid, Callum Phillips, Ellis Archer, Callum Farrer, Jake Carter, Spencer Fulton, Matthew Johnson, Jordan Thomson, Daniel Rooney, Sam Forrester, Scott Akehurst, Matty Henson.
