Three trails back at Dearham saw 38 hounds turn out in three races.

Nine of them were in the opening senior trail with joint table leader Silver Dream, for Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as favourite.

From the slip Mel, for Les and Graham Reid and Ellie Napier, got away to a flying start with Silver Dream three lengths back.

Reports came in from the first road and Mel was still leading the way from Silver Dream and Busy Again for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison was in third.

The next report came in from the Maryport road after roughly seven minutes running and those three had broken clear.

Busy Again, Mel and Silver Dream had established an advantage on the chasing hounds which were being led by Thorn Heart for Colin Satterthwaite and Croft Lass for Stanley, Carole and Sarah Jackson, David Loan, Ricky Deacon and Donald Hodgson.

When reports came in from the final road crossing, where they are roughly five minutes from home, local hound Silver Dream had taken the lead from Thorn Heart and Busy Again with Croft Lass in fourth and Mel dropping back to fifth.

As they showed on the finish three were in contention – by now it was Silver Dream, Mel, and Croft Lass.

When they jumped the last fence into the finishing field Silver Dream pulled away and ran on strongly to win ahead of Croft Lass and Mel with Thorn Heart fourth ahead of Busy Again.

The final ticket went to Thorn Soul for Martin, Molly and Teddy Burrow and Sarah Jackson.

The win for Silver Dream took her one point ahead of rival Sportsman.

The pups had 15 lining up at the slip and Tucker, for Nicola McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as favourite.

After they were slipped Tucker led them out of sight along with Brown Sugar for Graham Reid and Ellie Napier.

Sadie Wilson with Tucker

Reports came in from the road crossing and Tucker was then leading from Maggie for Les and Graham Reid, Erin Rowlandson, Barbara Jones and Steven Walker and Busy Rascal for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison was lying third.

When they appeared on the finish Tucker had gone clear and ran on well to win from littermate (Swamp Fox/Sir Robert) Busy Rascal by half the finish with Maggie in third.

Foxparke Oink Oink for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier, Brooke Butler and Donald Hodgson was fourth ahead of Prospect Jill for Stuart Smith.

The final ticket went to Pied Piper for Tanya Satterthwaite.

The final race of the day was the Open Maidens with a field of 14 lining up.

Paddy the Plasterer for Tanya Satterthwaite was sent off as favourite.

First reports from the road crossing were enthusing over a great line of hounds racing on well with kennel mates Foxparke Whoosh and Foxparke Dealer for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier and Brooke Butler leading the way.

As they showed into the final field it was the same two hounds leading the race and in a close finish Foxparke Dealer just managed to get up by a head to claim the win from kennel mate Foxparke Whoosh.

Affirmation for Andrew Bulman, Laura Steele and Gary Woodend finished third ahead of another kennel mate Foxparke Majesty for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier and Brooke Butler with the favourite Paddy the Plasterer in fifth.

The final ticket went to Lucky Legend for Lisa and Holly Whitefield.

Foxparke Dealer is a sister to senior title contender Sportsman who won the seniors race at Carret Rigg on Sunday afternoon.

They are out of Jenny’s Delight by Huntsman’s Major.
