Workington have parted company with manager Darren Edmondson after just over three months in charge.
The Reds board issued a statement saying the decision was taken because of the club’s poor start to the season.
The team has won only once so far in the League at Bamber Bridge, have not won a home game and have been knocked out of both the FA Cup and FA Trophy at the first hurdle.
It’s in contrast to his first spell at the club when he was Reds longest serving manager and kept the club in National North during his stewardship.
For the first time there were chants of “Edmo out” at the end of Tuesday’s 2-0 FA Trophy defeat at Borough Park to FC United of Manchester.
The Workington board has not said anything more, other than they will make a further statement in due course.
