Cons Club A won the last frame decider

The Grapes continued their unbeaten start to the JJ’s Workington Pool B league thanks to a 9-4 victory over Harrington Legion B.

In the early season top of the table clash the match was tightly poised at 3-3 but it was the Grapes that commanded the doubles as Bruce Denwood and Barry Graham helped secure the victory.

Cons Club A’s Stuart Robertson put a man of the match performance as his last frame decider earned his team a 7-6 win over Packhorse B.

Red House B missed out going joint top as Station Road B got their first win of the season. A tight match saw Andrew Little secure his two frames to give Station Road A 7-6 win.

Bees Knees and Red House A put on dominant displays as they earned 11-2 victories over Seaton Royal Oak and the Miners respectively.

The A league saw the leading teams lose, giving the chasing pack the opportunity to catch up.

Lewis Tilley held his nerve as his Pack Horse A team defeated last year’s league winners Harrington Legion A 7-6 while league leaders Station Road A were downed 9-4 thanks to a fine potting display from JJ’s B.

JJ’s A’s Dean Adams rounded off an accomplished 9-4 victory over Station Rd C and the Cons Club bounced back from the previous week’s defeat to beat the Waverley 8-5.

JJ’s C continued to impress as the newly promoted team went joint top as Kyle Teasdale helped earn an 8-5 win over Moss Bay A.

In the C league having conceded only 11 frames out of 52 it’s Moss Bay B that have caught the eye with another impressive 12-1 win.

Joining them at the top of the league is WashHouse Miners who won the last five frames for an 8-5 victory against Union Jack B.

Hot on the leaders tail are JJ’s E who topped of a steady 8-5 win against Union Jack Club A thanks to star man Jordan Rimmer who won his two singles frames.

Amanda Stamper helped get her JJ’s D team their first win as they edged the Roundabout 7-6 and finally Vinnies moved up to mid table with an 8-5 victory over Grapes A.
