Keswick made comfortable progress in the Cumberland County League’s Benevolent Cup competition.
They built on a 2-0 half-time lead to beat a Whitehaven Miners Development side.
The tie was goalless for 30 minutes, although played mostly in the Miner’s half, with Keswick failing to convert a number of chances.
Finally George Frampton, on his return to his hometown club from Whitehaven AFC, slotted home the opener.
Captain Alfie West followed that up five minutes later with the first of three goals for a 2-0 lead at half time.
The second half was dominated by Keswick with West scoring two more; Ste Moss hammering home the rebound from his own penalty strike, and substitute Will Atkinson sliding in to score with just his second touch of the game.

A goal for Miner’s with 10 minutes to go from Ben McCarron was little more than a late consolation for the visitors.
Both Cockermouth teams were involved in Benevolent Cup action and went out of the competition.
The first team were at home to Workington Juniors and were beaten 4-0.
Shane Roe, Tommy Whitehead, Leo Holliday and Jack Nixon were on target for the visitors.

It was much tighter in a Whitehaven derby clash which saw Mirehouse lose their 100% record.

Kieran McGuire scored for Mirehouse.
There were three games in Division One and the best contested one was at Bransty where the home side drew 2-2 with Dearham Utd.
